GAVEL CLUB                                         


 UKI Gavel Club gives that improved the confidence and the public speaking skills of younger generation & Developing them to take up leadership positions in the future.  
       To build the self confidence, listening, expression the public speaking skills among  the members of UKI.


Club Mission

We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.



Roles and responsibilities

     President - The club president presides of all meeting of the              board of the directors as well as the club.

             ·     Assist fellow officers and communicate other members
             ·     Preside over club meetings and activities

Vice President Membership -  Assist the president ,Preside over other officers and assist  them in their duties. Bee the executer
·     Ensure that attendance is taken at meeting
·     Ensure that a newsletter is produced
·     Attend all meetings

Secretary  - to maintain all club records.

General  Evaluater  -  Evaluation speech on the meeting.

Timer  - Record the duration time of each speaker’s speech.

Grammarian  - Improve vocabulary ,  grammer  , critical listening  and evaluvation skills.

Toastmaster – Choose the theme of the day (inform the theme of the day to members in advance)
·     Preside over the meeting
·     Communicate with each others and ensure their attendance
·     Conform the meeting  meeting schedule & opening speech
·     Give 2minutes speech on the “WORD OF THE DAY”

Prepared Speakers  1,2,3 – Present 4-6 minute speech on a prepared topic.

Ah counter – To help members avoid using filler & crutch words.
·     Ah counter reports the member of  “ah’s” used – and by whom
-during the courses of the meeting

Sergeant-At-Arms - Incharge of tools and books
